Winifred E. Duell, 77, 234 Skylark Drive, died at 4:22 a.m., Thursday, February 20, 1986 in St. Anthony Medical Center emergency room after a sudden illness. Born July 7, 1908 in Lanark, the daughter of Harry and Bessie Colver. Lived 70 years in Rockford, coming here from Lanark. Married to Arthur L. Duell in Galveston, TX, Dec. 21, 1943. He died December 22, 1979. Employed as elementary school teacher by Rockford Public Schools for 34 years. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, National Education Association, and Illinois Education Association, Alpha Delta Kappa. Graduated from Rockford High and DeKalb Teachers’ College (NIU). Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Raymond (Betty) Pearce, Rockford; several nieces and nephews.
Services at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, in ULREY FUNERAL HOME, CHAPEL OF THE CHIMES, 7000 W. State St., with the Rev. Dale W. Hallberg, pastor, of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial in Willwood Burial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church.
